Great Report

Took me a while cuz I knew I would need to set aside some time, but this was well worth it. Although I am adicited to this website I would hardly call my self an adventurer, this report makes me think about such a trip though. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Good one

Man this was a great ride report! I just had to wait until the very end to chime in though. I pull this thing up from time to time when I'm having a bit of a bummer day and look at some of the funny shit that's in here and it makes me smile. I'm glad to have met all ya'll crazy fuckers up there and for helping me make summer 2007 one of the best ever. It was weird that the last 7 days of my month long solo trip is when I met all the cool people.

Kendal
Arno
Tom from Philly
That other quiet guy at the Haines campground who lost his luggage
The owners of the Haines campground
That Sweet little barkeep at the Haines tavern,
Conner and Scott and their cute little red headed wives
Frank the Kayak god
The Tiger brothers and the nephew (ere109?)
The other Harley people we met on the boat.
The lack of Booze on the Ferry.
The Kid who got kicked off the crab boat and sent home.
The two ladies on the Harley that wear comfortable boots.
and about a hundred other people that i've forgot their names.

I may be the only one with a photo of Frank the Kayaker so I'm inserting it here. Mainly so people can see what a stupid fucking look that Arno has on his mug!

It was the trip of a lifeltime. Thanks

By the way, you can look at my pics at www.fastwitch.smugmug.com

Not that it was of interest to me or anything... It was entirely in the interest of clarity and accuracy. Ahem. Really...

She really ignored my advances... ... Geez o' Pete. It was Haine's... I should have been Brad Freakin' Pitt to that crowd.. I mean... oh crap... PUI... Now I'll never get an ADVdate...

Wow, look what I found!

Or, more accurately, a link that was passed to me
Remember the tough looking RV (for lack of a better word) that I took pics of on the road to Haines?

Arno, you've been thanked by many, and deserve it. I'm speachless by your report! Thanks for taking the time to share your craziness w/ us, you've posted one of the best ride reports, if not the best, ever. I enjoyed the comic relief you and Matt brought to the ferry.

Tu-f'n-hounds (Matt/rodeo clown), you saw your share of crazy "animals". This one is a photo and a half!

Wow! People are still reading this drivel?
Once again, thanks everyone for the kind words

You guys in Tufelhunden's list and all the other folks I crossed paths with is what made this such a fantastic trip. I thank you all.

Velvet, that's one mean looking dog man. I sure wouldn't want to see it for real.

Rebecca, it was way cool of you to hang with us and see us off. Still wish I could have convinced you to come along but you certainly had your own adventure

J, how could you read this in a day - it took twice as long to write it as it did to ride it!

NX650, anything you do that is more than what you did last time is an adventure. Whatever you have going in your mind, just do it.

Direwolf, you're my biggest supporter. You too, Brad21. Thanks!

And thanks too, to all the folks that dropped feedback. I wish I had responded to each of you... don't think it wasn't appreciated.

Stay tuned for a ride report that has me riding to a wedding in Ixtapa, Mexico this coming February. I'll be nice and filthy for it. I'm going to meet up and ride with old friends, get drunk, chase women, get arrested, etc. It should be a good one!

I've been scouring all RR's for Alaska & the Yukon as I'm on my way next July, but yours has been the best by far, thanks for taking the time to do it. Respect.

History Channel

I just saw a most excellent show on the History Channel called Alaska: Dangerous Territory. This episode was all about the Haul Road (the road pretty much from Fairbanks to Prudhoe Bay), its history and stuff. Lot's of neat footage. Well done.

I'm ready to go back! At a minimum to Hyder, AK to get Hyderized

You are probably the first person ever that drrags has kept out of the pub.
