Like we say around here "Pennsylvania has some of Ontario's best riding!"

Agreed, I used to live in Philly, there are some fantastic roads in Pennsylvania and upstate New York, as good as or better than here. However, here you can ride them in a hurry 300+ days a year.

That's a chain. It's motion blurred so it looks like a belt.

Here's one I took a couple summers ago

One more for good measure (not really a cafe racer, just a straight up racer, but whatever):

alright, that got my Norton juices flowing so had to post up a photo of my buddy's Norton. This thing IS a cafe racer - all about fast, cobbled together from several different bikes to get all the right bits, home-built in a shitty garage:

Good first post. We need less flair and more function around here.

I'm planning to convert a KTM 530 EXC into a café racer. Can anyone give some advice or tips?

Not to say it's impossible, in fact it might be really cool, but it's a rather expansive statement with little information. Sorta like like asking, "I have a guitar, can someone suggest some music?"

What is your skill level? Can you weld? Do you have access to a machine shop? How far do you want to take it? First you'd need to get wheels. Next you'd want to look at what Roland Sands has done. You're basically going to be building an F450 style bike. You'll ditch all the plastic and fabricate or fit an alloy seat and tank and, if you're really serious, fit clipons.

That would be a start. The details of solving those problems will determine your success. If you decide to do it start a build thread but do some research first.

Here's an inspiration for you:
