BTW, as for batteries for Cafe Racers, Scramblers, etc. Look to the Shorai lithium battery, however, if you need one that fits into a particular spot, or shape (flat, curve, l-shape, Etc.) look to Headway Headquarters. I have been playing with these for some EV projects, and they are amazing little batteries. They can custom build you a battery to suit you needs, and install the BMS (battery protection circuitry) for a pretty reasonable price, $160ish for my Airhead.
Ask for Jim Headway Headquarters

These are the batteries that power Chip Yates electric motorcycle to 258HP, and 375 LBS of torque (though he did use a few different ones over time) I have no interest in Headway, just neat stuff.

Still a long ways off, but another step closer: Reasets. Well, rearSET... still have to tack up the other side.

h

Feels pretty good. The other side will be easy- dont have to work up a linkage or anything for the shifter- just spun it around so its pointing backwards. Killed two birds with one stone by doing that- now the shift pattern is all UP, instead of all DOWN. Darn near killed myself a time or two expecting THIRD and getting FIRST. The brake side will be a bit harder, going to have to weld some bracketry onto the pedal to hook up the brake pull rod.

Caught the builder today. Not a converted drum. front and rear are GS750 wheels with CB500 disks grafted on in place of the 750 disks.

Yes, very nice.

I've given up on the Cafe Racer show and I'll watch almost anything on TV involving motorcycles. The way they stretch segments across multiple shows just got too annoying.
