Looks good, is that the stock tank or a CX500 tank?

That's completely friggin cool! It probably goes pretty good too.

The tank is a modified CX500 Deluxe tank. It is one of the few with a tunnel wide enough to fit the nighthawk.

That's kind of ironic considering it came off an across the frame V-twin.
That tank looks like it belongs, great inspiration.
I'll be following your progress since I've often lamented the plain vanilla appearance of this bike. The European version was far more attractive.

I've often wondered what that bike might look like in 919 body work but I really like the direction you're going. Keep it up.

WTF, I don't know if I love it or hate it, but I'm glad someone built it, so I could see it!

I think if this thing had a coherent paint scheme most would like it.

Just think how cheap it would be to do things to the motor!

I agree, Les, I see a lot of potential for greatness there.

What kind of HP do the VW conversions make?

Depends on how wild you want to get.

Most I've seen is 400HP

Here's one I saw on a cross country trip in 1977. It was very nicely finished and the guy said it rode great.
