GadgetBoy had the same suggestion. Maybe follow the MOA since folks were in the area.

Hmmmm, like near that bigass ski area - Purgatory, or whatever they are calling it these days?

I think a small Ski area ala Sipapu is better than a big one. More hungry for summer business. Cheaper (we do have KLR riders to look out for ) A better setting where it is just us.

Medicine Bow is now Snowy Range Ski Area--but didn't protect it's Domain Name

Medicine Bow Range is between Laramie and Steamboat--Don't confuse it with the town of Medicine Bow,WY near Casper.

Maybe a Nordic Ski area??????????????

You got to love it. Maxwell Smart and Hogan's Heroes.
So is Fat Toney going to the ball bearing factory or the Russian front?

I am far from the first to use the Cone of Silence here.

I never made it that far south. I abso-freakin'-lutely loved Ouray but never made it further south than Silverton.

Right out of Silverton you can hit dirt on the Alpine Loop and do Cinnamon, Engineer California and Hurricane passes, American Basin, Corkscrew Gulch and numerous ghost towns and mining camps. On the other side of 550 is Black Bear, Imogene, Ophir, Alta ghost town, food and shopping in Telluride.

I spent six days in Ouray and the farthest I wandered was Black Canyon to the North and Lake City to the east. What's available down at Purgatory?

Durango is a good area. And FatChance did say that he would be glad to head it up, if it is held in his neck of the woods.

How's the on-road stuff out there? My wife is begging to get in on it next year, but she'll be on a street only bike.

On road around Durango? Fantastic.
On road around the Medicine Bow Range?--Probably pretty damn good.

Durango is a launching point for one of the most beautiful motorcycle circuits in America, the San Juan Skyway.

Yeaaaaahhhhh, sorry, I'll be out of town that week. I'm going to the WestFest rally that will be someplace else. You know, someplace where someone else is volunteering to organize the rally, someplace that has camping, cabin, motel, food, liquor and meeting facilities, and on and off road riding opportunities for over 300 people. It should be a lot of fun, maybe you can make it too?
