I need a European
I would like to order a motorcycle part from a German site, but they will not ship to the US. If there is someone in Europe who would be willing to forward something to me, please PM me. This is not NX related, but there are a number of Europeans on this thread so I thought I would post it here. Thanks.

What route have people went about putting SM wheels onto the nx 650?
found a 93 one that is in bits and i might take it as a project purely to supermoto it. whats rims will lace to the hubs? what other options are there? could you run it with the standard rear and lace a rear rim to the front? (i know this will be iffy regarding tyre sizes) |

did a longer strech of highway today (70KM twice) and i noticed my engine is running kinda hot (measured with a dipstick). Outside temperature was around 20C and i was driving +/- 120-130 real KM/h (5500-6000rpm). And temp readout was almost 140!. I dropped speed to 110 and then temps went back to 120. Im pretty sure i could drive along at 120+ before without reaching 140C. I removed the snorkel last week so im wondering if this means the engine is now running lean and thus causing higher engine temps?
Only other mods are a k&n filter and a 157 main jet (one size bigger then stock) its a 88 dommie with stock exhaust |

Me too, I had a lead on a second hand Acerbis in blue for the first gen bikes but it sold before I could get hold of the seller.
Ran out of fuel then shortly after, and had to borrow some lawnmower petrol from a local. |

Hi robAU and Bounder, I will postup where I get to with trying different tanks. Although at the moment I am having to slow down on the nx project a little as I am in the process of another build at the moment and the $$$ dont quite stretch far enough for me to do both at once.
I am hoping to have the nx sorted by mid next year but the tank is the first step. I'll definatly post here with pics soon assessing the 30L dr tank as I am borrowing one in a few weeks to look at. I'm thinking that the 30L dr tank is a long shot as the dr doesnt have the oil in frame setup like our NX's and therefore doesnt have the room at the front for oil tank filler. I am thinking that the best likley candidate is the xr650L 25L tank.

If you compare AJs pic with this one they look very similar.
Even down to the label on the side. The only tank acerbis makes for the big bore singles is the DR650 one, they never made one for the DR BIG probably because they had big enough steel tanks already, they came with 29 litres originally then reduced to 24. Most of these tanks don't come that far forward of the filler hole that far anyway as they have to clear the triple clamps on full lock. I would be surprised if they blocked the dipstick by much. All you need is a DR650RS fairing as well and you could have a faired dommie again. I'll have to look around, that little fairing on the dommie makes a big difference to your comfort on the road. |
