Question Starcom or Autocom??

I use:

2 earbuds as speakers in a fullface for rider and pass
GPS
XM
MP3

adding later:
GRMS
Mobile phone

Thoughts?

I don't know about the Autocom, but a new feature on the Starcom, that I wish I had, is being able to adjust the volume balance between you and the passenger. They might like the music louder because they are not worried about hearing other vehicles, sirens, motor noises etc.

I have the earlier version of the Starcom and I like it. I use it with their speakers so I don't know how easy it is to use it with earphones when you also want to use the microphones.

I, on the other hand, don't know about the Starcom, but the Autocom I recently got (the Plus Duo kit) has volume controls for both rider and passenger. Similar story, we are both using the headset kits that came in the package. Sound quality is very good, although I did need to get an 'open face adapter', which is really just a windsock, to use in the MX helmet I like for summer air flow. That was cheap, though, like under four bucks.

So far, I like it. I tend not to listen to music much while riding, I kind of like the music my engine is making. It's great to be able to receive phone calls, though. And passenger-to-rider chat is very nearly natural once you've got the VOX adjusted well and the microphones properly placed.
