Teach Your Children Well

I wish I could, I wish I had, I should have, I would have...you hear it all when you are traveling. I wanted to tell them all to stop wishing and start planning!

I took 5 weeks off and traveled the country with my 12 year old daughter this summer. Prior to our departure, she's never been on the bike for more than half a day. 9,000 miles and 25 states later she's a seasoned veteran! More pics here.

Here is a little of our story...

Scattered showers, high of 58. We had our rain gear on 4 times in 35 days. Can't complain.

Letting it all dry out...after a morning of showers accross 17W in Canada, a hot dry parking lot in Sault Ste Marie is not such a bad thing.

A 500 mile a day can be tiring...

This is the way to learn geography. Montana 24

Hungry Horse, MT, just West of Glacier. Wonder what she's thinking?

Glacier National Park

Crater Lake, OR

And how about a curvy road for good measure?

Very cool, it looks like you took her to some cool places.

Whats the hair wrap you daughter is wearing called? My partner has similiar length hair and it gets knotty as anything when riding. Something like that looks like a good idea.

Awesome!
I started doing some mini trips with my 8yo son on my GS this year. We've done 3 overnight camp trips and he loves it.
Can't wait to do more.
