whats the meeting time at the peak, just got my first unemployment check 5 minutes ago . ill have to keep my speed down too, my rear tire is TOAST.

8:45 at 4 corners, so maybe 9:30ish at the peak.

I've been past the gates at Silverado Canyon / Maple Springs and ridden to where the pavement ends but that was eons ago and I was on my sport bike. The MS gate is pretty much the closest thing to where I live but I've been known to ride a bit further for some nice roads. This whole dual sport thing is new to me and I'm wondering if any of the sages in this group can let me know what's good road in the CNF for a n00b like me to learn some dirt riding.

The hands down easiest road in the CNF (provided it has not rained recently ) is Trabuco Creek Road. It's a 5 mile long fire road that takes you back towards holy jim canyon. The road gently climbs into the hills without any steep pitches, drop offs, sharp turns or surprises. It's basically a mellow fire road that allows you to do an "out and back" without committing to a long dirt ride.

If you are familiar with the area on the west side of the Santa Anas, then you shouldn't have any problem finding it. The entrance to Trabuco Creek Road is just east of Oneil Park on Trabuco Canyon Rd. If you know where cooks corner is, head south from cooks on Live Oak Canyon Rd which turns into Trabuco Creek Rd. Ride just past oneil park and you will cross a bridge over Trabuco creek. Just past the bridge hang a left and you will be on trabuco creek rd.

peak at 9:30 it is. i may be there a bit earilier than that pending how much traction my tire has and how many pucker moments i have . good thing im probally changin my dad rear tire tomarrow, a stock 650l tire is better than a good dirt tire with NO tread.

Damn, I missed the bus Went to hit the snooze button and shut the alarm clock off. Didn't even roll out till 8:30. Hope you guys had a fun ride!

we though ya did that l2r, wish you could have made it though. i had a itch to ride, otherwise i probally would have done the same thing. the rest of you guys, it was good riding with ya, hope you had a safe ride back over the peak, and i owe you all a pitcher next time. herr, i owe you quite a few beers by now, i promise you wont need to bring any next time . oh ya, i completely forgot i brought my camera.

It was a great ride today... missed L2R but always a next time.

We did the now famous bike stack in the back of the parking lot for a photo op that Lost Again will hopefully post, but apparently offended some of the Shiny Chrome junkies in leather, 'cause when I came out to my tipped over bike it had shit on it. Guess they figure we think we're too cool riding through the dirt and we were disrespecting our steeds.

What's the difference between me and the guy who wiped his ass on my bike?

1. I never mess with a strangers bike.

2. I don't have any shit on my hands, but he probably does.
