I broke my dirt cherry there a year ago. That was the day I met Geoffster.

Was up there yesterday around 11 AM and it was closed "due to weather conditions". Man they suk! Both the phone message system and the website show it as open. Always fun when you heading over from Long Beach.

Yeah, my experience is that you really need to talk to a person to find out for sure. The website and messages are worthless...

Just for clarity, where trabuco canyon road turns to dirt, is that considered holy Jim trail?

The trailhead is at the end of the road. It's a hiking trail to the falls. Couple'a miles. Nice hike in spring, nice falls and pool. Parking is very limited at the trailhead.

Cool. So when guys say they rode holy Jim, they're really just riding to the trail head. It's all closed to motorized traffic after that...

Correct, if they said they "rode it" they must be OLD like me.

Closed Sunday morning...
Even on Skyline before the gate at Beek's there were a couple of greasy, muddy sections.
I'll bet on the Main Divide, there were some sloppy sections...

Nice to get out on the bike anyway, no?

Edit: I should have posted Sunday afternoon, could have saved you the trip. Sorry!

I talked to Vicky this morning about the non info on the website..she said they have no control on updating the site. She informed me that it comes from somewhere other then a local office, but in March they will be training to update trail and road conditions on a local/district area.
Hopefully we will get some real time info on gate/trail and road conditions in the near future..

I know it's been said a few times but...the Dez is only an hour plus away with no gates and the riding is alot better then a fire road.

At the Ortega to South Main Divide intersection there is a sign that indicates if the Wildomar OHV park is open/closed about 9 miles before the park entrance. I live just past here and pass the sign daily. They changed it to closed on Saturday but last night it now reads open. Hopefully this is an indicator for how they feel the road conditions are as well

There was grading equiptment on the Ortega side on Tues. Perhaps the county was taking advantage of the good conditions to move dirt.
