Last night I headed for the peak solo around 7pm. Passed 1 bike and 4 trucks on the way up. At the top I ran into 3 hooligans. Stories were told, good time was had. We headed down around 11p and passed one solo rider on his way up. Stopped at In-N-Out for some grub and was home at midnight for ice-cream.

Went up to 4 corners today around 2. Saw a dude on an XR with what looked like Team Longriders on it. If you saw us, I was the guy patiently waiting for the Super Tenere to catch up every 500 feet

Might be up Sat night watching the sunset from the peak. I normally would no go to such a sucky place on a weekend, but it may be my only shot this year.

Wasn't me, could have been another longrider, there are many of us out there.

Got my new chain guide today, I'm ready to ride.

Two lost hikers off holy Jim ? Called 911 last night to say they were lost.

I don't think that place was big enough to get lost.

I swear I saw those guys, they were at the top of the mountain. Didn't look like they belonged there. I went from Maple springs to Ortega and back. I saw them walking back up towards the top on my way back from Ortega and was confused what they were doing. Holy Jim can take u to the top. Not 100% it was them, but likely.

Kind of sucks, but they can't be too bright. You can walk in any direction up there and be on a paved road in less than two hours from anywhere on the mountain, and even less to hit the forestry rd.

Ok now in my younger more seriously drunk days we use to bush wack our own paths all the time at night. I swear once we got lost on mount rubidoux for hours and thought people in black cloaks were chasing us....probably lasted all of 15 minutes

But seriously I hope they didn't venture too far of the trails or roads.. Seems if they haven't they would have been found by now.

They were able to make a phone call..could have been close to main divide ?

Never mind. The 2 I saw were a mix matched crew, a hippy and a roid head. They definitely looked lost, but probably more so with life in general. Honestly hope they are found by now, but the comment on the article is funny. "If you can get lost in holy Jim canyon, you probably shouldn't shop at Costco"

How hard is it to get unlost? All you have to do is walk downhill.

Have you guys ever tried walking off-trail through that brush? That chaparral will tear your clothes apart in a couple miles and then start digging into your skin. There are two trails that go up to main divide road from Holy Jim and if they went up one, got tired and tried to descend off trail, they could get lost fast. That stuff is almost impenetrable to humans and there are a lot of 60 degree slopes, cliffs, and other obstacles to navigate around.

Looks like they have been out there 2 nights and they are probably unprepared. It's not looking good for them. Hope they are found soon.

Very true... I imagine they went off trail and maybe one got hurt

Always be prepared folks .

I generally leave my phone off when riding or hiking to save the battery in case it is really needed.
