That's the future... Sequoia park has cameras in very remote areas to watch the pot growers.

140 miles door to door. Did the whole thing. Snack at the top. All the way to 74. Both gates at 4 corners were closed. Nice day. Fast!!! Vroom vroom.

I cant believe how much energy and money the forest service uses to keep people off our public lands. In recent weeks they have been busy putting in the pipe rail along the sides of South Main divide near the recent burn areas. But if the road gets a pothole due to the rain they shut it down claiming they don't have the money to fix it. It wouldn't surprise me if they got a grant to run electrical and network cables to all the gates to operate the security system. Whats next...speed cameras and radar?

BTW - the route from Blue Jay and Indian TT gates is open.

we pay taxes for forest access, not forest security.

Those gates are there for you, the forest user's safety. Please keep our forests safe by obeying all signs and closures.

I have no issues with it. As long as you respect the land, it's all good.

Where did you see a ranger? Haven't seen one in ages.

Welcome to the asylum.

and also, we pay taxes for the firemen if there ever is a fire. we pay taxes to keep the rescue chopper and crew on standby in case we need to be rescued. we pay taxes to the accounts of said departments covering any overtime those great workers who we are thankful of their service accrue. those gates should never be closed unless an aircraft carrying a nuclear bomb happens to go down in the general area. that might be of safety concern. everything else is fucking bullshit.
