lol, you guys are crazy..
I'm just cleaning the air filter on the new bike and this is what was there.
I've never seen anything like it before.
i'm guessing plumbers putty??

Any reason for DT1 in particular? I noticed they say you don't need to use any sealing grease. I've always used grease so, what does the Grinch do?

No grease it has a neoprene surface it's perfect, just the oil on the filter is good.

ok, so grinchy suggested I switch my hid bulb to an LED bulb.
does anyone have suggestions where I get it from?

Never mind...
I'm going to put the oem mask/headlight on it that came with the bike.
At least until I have time to do more reading on the subject.

The prior owner rewound the stator and switched out the rectifier. I wonder if that set up is gonna be ok for stock use.
Im afraid that the stator will put out way more than I'm using and overcharge the battery.

KK, just run the stock HL and leave it on high beam, the battery will be fine. If you're worried about overcharging just check the voltage at the battery with the engine running...14.5 volts max and your golden.
