a little Nova Scotia tour

Oh man, does THIS sound familiar. We did the exact same thing last week, except we were one road further from the water than you. After about 10 miles of steadily degrading gravel road, we dead-ended before the park at a bridge that was out, and the construction workers there told us that we wouldn't be able to ride through the park anyway.


And then that night we stayed at the exact same campground as you had.
Small world. You didn't happen to have the Donair Poutine for dinner at Pats in Pugwash?

We never made reservations. I generally don't like making reservations on a bike trip - too many things can happen. That would have also inferred some form of preparation and planning which simply... didn't exist...

The only night we were a bit worried was the final night but we were away from touristy places then. As it turned out, there were tons of campsites in the area. Greg's trusty GPS helped us out in this regard.

naw, we ended up having panini and seafood chowder at the Hidden Jewel Cafe. Pretty tasty!

That was a great campground - second only to Meat Cove on the trip. We had dinner in some little cafe that was just about to close and the food reflected this

I had the pleasure of some Poutine later on in the trip.

Looks like a fun trip. I gotta get to NS someday, won't be this year though. The Canada boarder guard was a little hottie when we did the Canada ride from CroMag. Didn't get any photos of her either.

More than likely the same one Beez (Greg had her not me but his description is similar to the Cromag folks) - we crossed at Calais as your group did I believe.

Now that I think about it, I crossed the border at Calais on Saturday morning and I too had a hottie. A bullet proof vest never looked so good!

Great report and pics, guys. The no-beer pic and the depth charge story had me rolling.Advocate Harbour etc really is a hidden gem.

I gotta say that your pair of BRG Sprints simply exude olde worlde class (particularly when you are not near them ). The mountie that didn't give you a ticket near Parrsboro was probably an Empire Loyalist. Me, I shed a tear for Meridian, Hinckley and old Britannia as I rolled out of that Moncton campground.... OK, ok, maybe that was the emotional aftermath of yacking about Shackleton while drinking all your wine the night before.

You are both gracious hosts, btw. Great to meet you.

Don't forget to visit NS again. We'll go to an Irving Big Stop or similar classy Canadian establishment. THose TH butter tarts (and the ones at the border) are just the beginning.
