Sure... if you want a speeding / reckless driving ticket every day for the rest of your life, since cops can write these tickets with absolutely no evidence whatsoever that you broke the law.

I have a regulation cop radar unit complete with the tuning fork calibrators and I AM retired. It's fun parking on the street and using instant on to see who has a radar detector.

Left Lane Relief

+1

-- Washington, D.C.'s WRC-TV reported in March that a woman from the Maryland suburbs showed a reporter a traffic citation she had just received, ticketing her for driving in the left lane on Interstate 95 in Laurel while going only 63 mph -- compared to the posted ("maximum") speed of 65. The citation read, "Failure of driver ... to keep right." The station's meteorologist noted that winds that day were gusting to 40 mph and that the woman might simply have been trying to control her car. [WRC-TV, 3-13-2013]

I read somewhere that Florida is also considering the same sort of law for slow drivers in the left lane. And right now, I'm too lazy to Google properly (okay, I'm surfing for porn) but I'm sure I can find a link to the article tomorrow.

Okay, okay, I'll close the tab with the naked women and focus!

This is a good start, I think. Next, I want rocket launchers on my bike. You know, for when there's no cops around to enforce the law.

I know a LEO who does not give tickets to motorcycles if they stop. Because he figures they could outrun him and dept policy is no chases.

...Unless they are complete dicks.....

On a clear, sunny, Friday morning I, and the rest of the college newspaper staff, begin to make our way to an annual retreat at the beach. It is a two hour drive along roads with varying conditions. At approximately the 1.5 hour mark I am on a windy two-lane, midway in a group of vehicles that are traveling about 75MPH on a 55MPH highway. In front of of the group is an el-camino. In the back is a Firebird Formula (yes I went to college with rednecks ). Between the two are a variety of other vehicle types; several sedans, a pickup, and a mini-van. Coming into the bottom of the pass we are crossing there is a beautiful sweeper of a corner, and a pullout. In said pullout sits one of Tillamook County's finest.

I am fourth from the rear of the 7 or 8 vehicles in the group.

I am driving the minivan.

I won the $240.00 yellow ticket
I had the opportunity to go to court one time to discuss a misdeed with the judge, but the interesting case was the one before me. The conversation went something like this:

Judge: You have been charged with going 70 in a 55, go ahead and tell me your side of the story.

Guy: Well, there were about 8 cars all doing the same speed and this highway patrolman came up and singled me out of this line of cars and gave me a ticket.

Judge (to HP Officer): Is that what happened?

Officer: Well, it is true that there were several cars all going the same speed and I didn't know who to pull over and didn't think I could pull them all over, so I just turned my lights on and this is the guy who pulled over. So, I gave him a ticket for speeding.

Judge: Guilty. Pay the court. Next.

That exact case seems to have occurred in every courtroom in the country.

Did the case before that involve two old farts who forgot to pack lifejackets in their boat before heading out onto the bay? They got off scott free.

I heard a story about a guy who asked the cop why he was getting a ticket when others were speeding. The cop said, "When you go fishing, do you catch all the fish?"

Several years ago, the Florida legislature passed essentially that same law. But, then Governor, Jeb Bush vetoed it because it might confuse older drivers...
