Josh sitting up...

Josh got to sit up with a brace yesterday.

We are glad they have cleared him to eat and drink - but his lungs need recovery from the surgery.

He still has no feeling or motor from the waist down...

We hope that we can find proper rehab...

He is likely to be at Desert Regional Medical Center for at least another week - before he gets discharged to a rehab facility...

Thanks for continuing prayers and concern

Hey Josh,

Get better soon! We're all pulling for you and your family. I sure am glad that the surgery was successful. Now's the time to rest and rebuild your strength. Listen to your doctors, but also find out as much as you can about what the current ideas for rehabilitation are and seek as much information as you can.

Best of luck,
Mike

I am posting now, since I couldn't think of anything before now that could help.

It is a rough road ahead, I wish Josh and the whole family the best.

funklab "josh" in wheelchair today

Today, Sunday, PT got Josh into a wheelchair for the first time.

Its a start, though a painful one, and we are thankful...

With no feeling or control below the waist - it is difficult for josh to feel his balance, too...

We all still have questions Josh can rehab back at Charlotte, NC, or here in CA - as he cannot fly for 3 months and a ground trip may be too tough until he has already completed rehab...

Thanks for your continuing thoughts and prayers !!!

Hey everybody.

I am feeling pretty well at the moment, not so great this morning, it was the first morining, that I really felt like I have a LONG LONG LONG way to go, just to get around to being able to take care of myself.

Thanks, for all of the well wishes, and I will do my best to keep you all updated on my progress.

It's like riding, Josh... one day at a time. You'll get there, and we're all here behind you for the long haul. Nice to see you back online.

Hi Josh - glad to see you here and toughing it out. I know this is a tough row to hoe, but with patience and persistence you'll make it through.

My prayers continue to be with you.

help here if you need

Hi Josh,

I have not posted before on the ADVrider site but have read extensively, and have been following your story.

I am originally from Boston but staying here near Laguna Beach with cousins; I was getting ready for a very similar trip to yours, down to Central America.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. I can offer my time, labor, or services. I am not familiar with CA selling laws, but I bought a bike out here and would gladly help you with the logistics of selling your bike if you need that, delivery, etc.

I am taking time off from work preparing for this trip, so I have all the time in the world. Do not hesistate to ask, and if it's something I can do I will gladly help.

Chris
