I have thoughts doing a adventure on an Nimbus (Old danish bike from the 30'es, which You probably know?). But that adventure would be going down from Scandinavia, instead of north.

Also very nice pics! They must inspire everyone visiting this thread.
Actually two Nimbus riders from Norway rode from Norway to Singapore last year.

oh man, if you were a girl, i'd be in love with you. or if i were a girl. or if i liked guys more.

i love vintage bikes, i love offroad riding, i love antique indians, and i love it all even more when put together. awesome thread. the chief looks so at home in that landscape, it's beautiful.

i've done a bit of touring and dirt roading on my vintage bmw, and i'd love to try it on one even older. or to take mine to europe some day.

Hopefully I'll meet a girl (preferably..:) ) that understand more of the deeper and more important things in life and what I am and why...
The single girls in this small town seems to still think they are princesses...or they keep running after the same type of men that will hurt them once more..

anyway, then I can spend more time travelling and working on the bikes.. instead of trying to explain for the girls that glossy exterior and superficial details can't hide the ugly inside..or something like that .. :)

More pictures from the Iceland/ Faroe/Norway trip coming up ...uploading pics as we speak..:)

Trying to see down to Africa , southeast in Iceland

Southeast coastline... Vatnajøkul glacier straight ahead..

Hringhvegur (route1) looking east

Iceberg in the Ljøkulsarlon lake

Ljøkulsarlon with the glacier in the background

Weird...but beautiful

The chief bluesmoke rests for a while, while I check out the glacier

More iceland pics following...

More from Iceland

Lot's of water, rivers and streams in Iceland

Reykjavik ( view from the Hallgrims church tower)

Reykjavik ( the Perlan(?) tower is the round building in the back)

Reykjavik( with the nice Tjørnin lake/park ahead)

Just barely made it to the gas station.. far between out here..

Trying to shoot a music video at Landmannalaugar

View from a small lake at Landmannalaugar

Steam and sulfur..

Loose and slippery rocks.. it was hard to walk and climb up from the river

Just trying to be more "artistic" with the camera...:)

The camera crew gets ready.. sure you can drive on the F marked gravel roads in Iceland.. but your (or the rental car ) road car will be beat up bad by all the loose rocks.

Playing with the underwater camera in the pool

"Hillclimbing" the Krysuvikurberg

This is the hotwater line for heating up the houses in Reykjavik

There are actually some pretty nice and scenic paved roads outside Reykjavik

There's a bike down there..:)

This is a plant where the superheated steam from the geothermal activity underneath the ground is used for heating etc via heatexchangers.
The plant makes a horrendous noise..

Overlooking the Thingvellir area (the historical site for the Icelandic constitution)

A hot blue pond near the strokkur geysir...actually lots of tourists get burned every year.. I like the fact that they don't put up fences around the dangerous stuff, but really can't do much about the stupidity of some tourists.

The "Strokkur" geysir blowing out some water..

Happiness... !

Riding through one of the few "forests" in Iceland

Comparing (old school) horsepower

Studying the map...

YES.. it must be that "small" glacier shown in the map :)

WWII amphibious vehicle at Jøkulsarlon

Inside the amphibous car..swimming in the lake

In motion... cruising back towards Seydisfjordur..

Riding over the Øxl mountain pass

In the shadow of the mountains..

and then some more from the Faroe Islands

Sailing through the Faroe islands

Horses and a church in the north of the green Faroe Islands

Mountains and islands

Typical roads in the Faroe islands

View of the famous rock formations from the Tjørnuvik church gate (I think)

Drying the hay/grass the old way

And then the last one (for now?) .. Scrabster, Scotland

Thanks!

I enjoy reading and viewing the fantastic pictures from the other Iceland threads...
makes me want to return to Iceland soooon.
There still a lot to be seen here in Norway also, I hope I'm able to keep riding 30-40 years into the future... life is too short to waste it in front of the tv..

here's another picture I like a lot.. and it sort of catch the moment while I was there.. my first day ever in Iceland, and after a long day of riding...

Just wish they didn't put up that tourist information sign there...

Beautiful pic!

I was just checking this great RR:

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...hlight=iceland

by Zwerver .

Now i'm on my nerves as i learned there Lakigigar, which seems another unbelievable place.
What beauty did i miss!

The places i would like to see most:

Askja
Sprengisandur
Lakigigar

Furthermore, i have seen some pictures from a 4 x 4 trip where the drivers reached some ice-caves on the northern tip of Vatnajoekull.
The area should be rather difficult to reach as there is a track departing directly from Askja reaching the back of the glacier .

seeing everything in one trip is really difficult, unless you have at least one month available, and there are more and more to explore...
