Akrapovic 2 in 1

Hi all

Does somebody know there to get a Akrapovic 2 in 1 system just like the rally 950 for the KTM 950? Maybe there is a part number from KTM? Would be great to have on the bike. For now i am running with open akrapovic cans, but i think a full sustem would be better. Other mods that i have is roadbookkit, touratech rack,Sommer airboxkit,Sommer suede seat and a centralstand.

That´s right Goss. would be nice to have that exhaustsystem on the bike. I did put the bike on the dyno after the Sommer airbox fix, and got 99 HP on the backwheel. And the bike run´s very nice all the way on the rpm´s. But still, the 2 in 1 would be nicer i think.

Lars,
Is the Sommer Airbox kit specific for the KTM 950? Where is it on the Home page of Sommer? I do not speak german?

Thanks,

Is there any functional difference between a 2-into-2 and a 2-into-1 system?

Ya'all got it backwards again, it's the 1 into 2 you should be wanting! Now it only comes with the bike! But that's one damn sexy package.

I would think the 950 system 2 into 2, (isn't it a 2-1-2?? I'm curious) is to meet noise regs, give space for the cat's, and for styling purposes, with dual underseat exhausts being so popular these days? If the single exhaust Akrapovic system isn't too loud, it would seem the way to go all around.

Cool2

I think that I have seen the 950 rally bike with both 2 - 2 and 2 - 1 configs.

Mack, I am sure you know that your photo is of a 660 rally. I have also seen these run with duals and singles. I am sure it is to tune for different terrains.

Goss, just trying to distract all this focus on the 950's. It's like going from being the only child (prodigy), to having new supercute baby LC8 twins in the house! :):

Though I have to admit, I really wanted some Sebring 2-1-2 for my LC4 ADV R, but I couldn't find much info, and they did not seem compatible with pannier's. Anyone in Europe checked to see if Sebring is making pipes for the 950, I think Sebring is based in Austria, IIRC?

Seems a single silencer on a 950, might drop some much needed weight, as compared to the oem silencers.

(Thread Hijack Terminated!) :):

I understand that Mack. A little change of pace for the none LC8 owners will be refreshing I am sure.

My only concern with a 2 into 1 for the LC8 would be that an already peaky HP motor would be made more so. I think this would give you a drop in midrange torque. Of course this is what I have read over the years. Any of you motor tuners out there please chime in.
