'02 KLR Army man green with silver tank.
I loves mine. Just the thing for meandering day rides taking you on any road, or cattle trail. chris |

Aye, Cap'n
Got an old blue KLLeR right here. Not handsome--that red on yours definitely helps.
I will continue to maintain that KLRs are cheap junk. They'd suck except that they work so well. Everybody has ideas about what mods they need right away, but I say most of the cute bits are just jewelry. I had to get metal pegs so my feet would stay on in the wet. Renthal bars made it possible for me to sit up straight (long arms). And the RaceTech emulators made the damn thing feel like a motorcycle. I've done a lot more to it, but I bought it cheap just so I could hack on it. Poor beastly blue camel. Which I may paint black just out of feistiness. Enjoy. Oh, and welcome to the asylum. Bring on the trip reports before construction season is over up there. |

Yup, another KLR owner '01 17,000 miles. I like the bike, the crescent wrench of motorcycles. Better specific tools out there but easy and inexpensive to equip it the way you want to use it.

nice ride...
what is it with the trashy crossover mx graphics on these new bikes? the first thing i did to my new zook was to rip off those gawdy stickers.
i'm thinking about rebadging the zook with old ossa decals... ossa stiletto on the front fender... ossa clovers on the tank sides. |

Yup, I've got an 02 with 27k km's on it. Only slightly hardened with a real skidplate, barkbusters and no "Doohickey". So far just lucky I guess.

I'll drink to that....? Hey, I have a 2003 KLR with 5000 on it and I still love the bike. Had to change the tires but no problems and it goes very well. Been a few F650 GS's have more than a tuff time with staying w/me in the dirt...Even more crotch rockets stay with me in the twisties.
But anyway........................................ T=crazee |

got a 1997
I picked mine up about three months ago and have been trying to find a problem with it since, but for 4k miles it hasn't given me any complaints, except that I haven't used either of my other two bikes a whole lot since.

just got an '87 (A1) KLR with <6kmi on it!
has a leaky petcock and a gummed up carb... but in great shape overall. just got the new Clymer manual, need to add a metal bash plate, progressive springs, overhaul the carb and eliminate the vaccum gizmo from the petcock with the kit from www.bigcee.com bike was $675.00 cash, insurance is $90/year... so a few bucks for some new/upgrade parts ain't gonna kill me. yeah.. it ain't as purdy as a KTM... so what, i'm back on two wheels after being stuck in a cage for many years! |
