VT/NH question
Is the last week in October too late to catch the foliage in central to north Vermont or New Hampshire? Thanks in advance for any help.

I think it might be too late. Do you have any flexibility in your scheduling? One or two ADVriders and I are planning an earlier trip, around the first of Oct. Post if interested?

The last week in October would certainly be too late for good color in the north country. Peak color starts up north first and works it's way south. Oct. 6,7,8 is generally peak color in south central New England. The north country would be past peak and if there has been rain and wind, a lot of leaves will have already dropped. I usually see best color beginning the end of September through the second week in October.

Much to late! Look into the Berkshires down in Mass. But VT and NH may have had snow by then. Even without snow the leaves will have fallen by then.
Good luck. |

Just returned from NY, VT, NH and ME on Sunday, at high elevations, the leaves are starting to change.

For this version... ![]() ...leave about a week earlier. It can change that fast. Mid-week is also recommended if the leaves look like this. |
