Could the 'ADV' be a little bolder? What about Bacon's pic in the 'D'? Just wonderin'...

I wanted to see what the map looked like before working bacon in. I think the map is too light... I tried some other maps and didn't get far before having a melt down. try again tomorrow.

Hi, 100MPG. Make sure to put me down for a couple of stickers.

Glad to see that Bacon is on his way!

In short, don't be put off by F800GS reliability reports on the net, or any reliability reports on the net for that matter - a few posts get cross-referenced and before you know it, your electric toaster will kill us all on 31/12/99...

As unofficial Upper Midwest (USA) co-ordinator, it looks like we've got Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan (ChuckS - are you UP or down south?) covered. There are a couple of volunteers for Western Montana, so we'd need a gap filled in between. Bacon could go south from there and come back up or he could come across the Dakotas. Depending on timing, a trade could be made at the BMW Int'l Rallye in Gilette, WY.

I'll go through the complete thread this week or weekend and try to come up with a complete list of coverage and gaps.

I could definately pick Bacon up at the BMWMOA in Gillette, and get it to Northern Idaho. Also, it's possible that Westfest will be the week after (who the hell knows about that!) but if so, I could get Bacon there for a hand off, or just a bunch of pix, and thence to Northern Idaho. But, I bet if he (she?), makes it to WestFest there's bound to be another inmate in need of a little porker to play with. Anyway, I'd be happy to play a roll in there somewhere.

Somehow I pictured Bacon as being a bit more innocent than that.

Just volunteered for some Montana time with our little piglette in the planning thread and the Beartooth would be fun. We should probably leave this thread for Bacon's Adventure, though.

I can get the pig passed along the TN AR MS KY MO area. He needs a photo at the Graceland gates and maybe even a shot on Elvis' grave while he is here.

We need to post a map on here and get every country he visits colored pink. Maybe inside the US he needs to visit every county.

I also ride a few times a year in Taiwan, so I can get Formosa filled in piggy pink.

Bacon around the world...

Gazza: Great to see things are off to a great start.... I have been off-line for a bit, but have returned, so should be on top of things here. When are you planning to send Bacon to the US?

Map Idea 1 - We could create an account here .....

http://www.travbuddy.com/widget_map.php

Publicly post the account info so the "BACON Rider" can post the state / country

Map Idea 2 - Use google frapper ...

http://www.frappr.com/

All points of interest photos, handoff photos, etc ....

Or we could do both .... shrug ... just an idea

I know "to many hands in the cookie jar" just causes confusion so the Organizers can roll with it if they choose!

Whenever BACON gets in the PNW US I know there is a large crew in the area more than willing to show him around

Sounds to me like SaPPeR has volunteered to manage the map!

I love the map idea...I think the second option is best. Not only do we get more options and usability, but I see Google and Frappr as the likeliest to be around for the astonishingly long journey of this little piggy.

Actually bird is the word...but the bird says mum. So we're gonna go with that. Over and out, dude.

If Bacon feels the need to tour Tassie a bit I think I can accomodate him .

However if he feels the need to just head north, I wish him the best of luck. I'm sure he'll meet some lovely pigs in the top end.
