Started snowboarding at 38 , daughter started skiing at 5. My wife even skis, although always pizza style. It is a great family activity. We have made trips to Vermont, NY, New Hampshire and Colorado. My friend lives in Breck and always find the good pow at Copper and Beaver Creek.

Have made many ski trips out west to Colorado, Utah, Nevada & California. Great family activity yet damn expensive. Started my 16 year old son skiing when he was 4 and now I have a hard time keeping up with him.
Ive learned straight lines aren't hard, neither is going fast. Stopping however, means you skid sideways,on your side, only to find that giant mound of snow some genius conveniently piled between the second steepest hill and the parking lot just so you can catch some air before stopping,or finding a crowd of soon to be non bystanders that don't get the idea of flailing your arms and screaming means you cant stop. Then again two trips (both spent face down) on the "bunny hill" hardly classify as having learned how to ski (or so I thought). Apparently I was progressing faster than I thought and the above tragedies occurred. First was the face down airborne into the parking lot incident. I went up,came down,it was a success right? The second was human bowling. And the third, pretty much like the second except this time the same crowd of folks learned that Newtonian physics is a harsh mistress...they didn't only move, they did it enplomb...and I actually managed one successful stop, perfectly in line where said folkswere. You'd think of all the previous failures that the crowd there would be happy at this gracious turn of events...they weren't. I'm still not sure if I'm allowed back at Brandywine.

Petes place

39 and mostly sunny tomorrow. The grass is just snow covered here. The township flagged the road in front of the house. I'll have the coffee on.

Great, changed out the cs, lubed up everything and put the riding mitts on the handlebars. Should be fun.
