Actually, you both did pretty good in that greasy mess. I thought you were going to lose it when you took the ditch up top. Good morning SquidRavioli: Having owned a new wee strom and a KLR I'm still very happy with my G650GS. Good luck with that decision between one and two cylinders. Comparing statistics just does not get it. You have to ride those bikes. It will be a fun decision!

Yeah, that was a little bit of a pucker moment. There was nothing else to do though. It wasn't going to stay on the road at that point so I just decided to try to keep it upright. It all worked out. That road was way too greasy for me to have any business being on it w/ the stock tires (w/ 6500+ miles on them!) on a bike that big. The rest of the day went pretty well though all things considered. Fun time. Looking forward to doing it again.

Tell me about it. Stock nearly bald tires on the Dr didn't fare better either. Still fun though, and Gorman led a pretty good route too.

Early yesterday morning a life long friend and riding buddy of mine lost his life in an accident where his trucked flipped over in a ditch. I've know Danny since we were kids living in Paris, Ohio back in the 70's. A few people here on Advrider have met him. He was 45

It's not the way you want to see someone go, not at that age anyhow. I spoke with him less than 24 hours before it happened, he wanted me to go over his 450 to sell so he could get a KTM300. Ohio PT and I were riding Sunday and the trail we were riding crossed those same logs in the last photo. Dan broke the trail, literally!

I hope his son Garret continues to ride with me, time will tell.

Give it a bit and ask mike. Might as well take the kid along. Seems like his dad liked to ride and it looks like he does too.
