Good articles. I hope KTM gives Caselli another ride next year.

New Tag

The tower is the tag, the clue to the location is this hill.

This hilltop is the highest point in Stark County.

I like the new tagging machine Ed. I'll have to get a closer look at it some time.

The KLR is a lot nicer for cruising than the DR, I am really happy with it.

Lot of riding days coming up, I'm sure we can meet up sometime soon.

2012 klr

My son who lives in Toledo and is a UPS man just bought a 2012 KLR. He bought it from a dealer. It has LESS than 200 miles on it! Out the door it was about $4300. No body at the store could give him a reason why they had a used bike with less than 200 miles.

So while I should be very happy for him, I'm worried about it being such a good deal. 30 day warranty and of course it looks and runs like new. So what do you think?

Someone bought it and hated it, it happens. I know a guy who has about 250k on Roadkings, always bought the same bike, decided to try something different, bought a KLR kitted it all out with bags etc... he had it for 3 weeks.

This, or had high aspirations of riding it and never did, or had a wife (or husband) who hated it, or lost a job and had to sell it....who knows.

I don't think 200 miles is enough time to find out that a bike has a major issue and trade it off.

I just gotta ask, what does his being a UPS man have to do with the question? Talk about ancillary info... I'll give ya the Toledo thing even though that's kind of non essential, too.

My dr had 270 or 230 in it when I bought it. Guy traded it in for the white one so it would match his other bikes.

Good afternoon Meefzah. The extra information that I offered was just my way of being friendly. Sorry if it offended you. I've been around this board, adventure riding, dual sports and motorcycling for some time. Some people know me. Some don't. But it never hurts to be friendly. kindness is NOT a sign of weakness. Hell, I bought my first Harley dual sport 49 or 50 years ago. Or maybe it was an adventure bike.

Yes, thanks for the reply GonzoMatt. You are correct about the 200 miles. Perhaps one reason that I'm having a hard time with his good luck is this fine BMW R50/5 with only 3500 original miles I just bought (the ad and the odo say 3500):

When I got it home from Michigan I found that a previous owner was a DiVinci with rattle can. The slides in the carbs had some of the chrome worn off. Other hidden wear items showed more than 3500 miles.

It really does not matter at this point. I like the bike. It's old and I'm going to ride it not restore it. Just a bit more cautious now.

So i got stuck in new phila today. Apparently you have to make sure you connect all the wires to the battery so it will charge it. Who would of thought that?
