Welcome, I live south of you in Loudonville. Lots of good roads to ride on south of here. Watch the other ohio thread there is someone riding just about every weekend.

Clearfork is over all pretty easy, it does have some tough stuff if the weather is not on your side. I heard they were not going to open and when I checked the web site a week or so ago it didnt say if they were or not. Glad they are. I plan to take the little boys over there after school on week nights so they can ride on the kids track. Its cheap and close.

Depends how fast you go. Looks like it could be as easy as you want.

The latest news from Clearfork is May 4th as a tentative date.

If any of you rookies want to ride it during the week when it's dead there, let me know, it's right at 30 min from me.

I dunno about that....I hear you're fast....real fast......

In all seriousness, it's a great place to learn, and to practice in a controlled environment, but there is not that much to do there. You can cover the whole place forward and backwards in a half hour. Also, don't even think about going there on a weekend in the summer unless you want to get run over by a quad or RZR.

I'll check out Clear Fork. 1st I've heard of it. Yeah, i heard about Crow Canyon. I'm totally in for a group get together out there.

I did hear that Bear Creek was newbish. But I'm so rusty and out of shape, anything easy to get the cobwebs blown out is a good thing.

I'm 235 pounds+ and hopefully with some mountain biking at Mohican can get down to 220ish.

So my DRZ and even the CRF are spung soft for my weight. No problems there. Might have to revalve the DRZ and get a stiffer rear spring actually. But not until my talents grow. The CRF actually feels really good. I know they're supposed to be kinda stiff, but not with me on it.

Hopefully the Edge Kit will prove to be bright enough.

Didn't take long to see that big bikes could be kinda tough for what I want to do. I fly right up the kind of hills, on my CRF in 2nd, these guys struggled with:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCQiMeHHaMo
guy with the 1200 looked nearly dead in a few of his vids.
Welcome.

The "Edge" tail light is not so great, it works well for a while but the solder on the circuits is shoddy and eventually the LEDs fail. It's also very small, and not nearly visible enough on the street, especially as a brake light. It gets covered with dirt quite easily as well, due to it's size. I've used one on my WRR and went back to OEM for safety and functioning reasons.

Yeah, he's not that fast.

Shit, I almost kept up with him on single track.

'Course, I was on my WR and he was on a goddam 950 ADV with 11 gallon gas tank and hard bags...

There's a CRA harescramble this Saturday. It's only 3 miles from my house, so I guess this is my cue to saddle up. You coming Michael?

Be sure to allow extra time for getting lost too. I won't be headed there without a GPS again.

50 degrees Saturday. Gonna be good. This is 1991 in a dump $4 a night room somewhere in Guatemala. Shortwave and reading were our only entertainment. At least I had a motorcycle magazine, was dreaming about it anyway.

You don't want to be the one to beat mgorman, next thing you know, every hot shot and two-bit KLR rider will be out to get you in turn. Then one day you will turn around and be staring at a six year old on a PW 50......
