Rules

Hmmm....Maybe I need to reread the rules. I could have sworn that tags on gravel were verboten and using file fotos for new tags was strongly discouraged. If we want more gravel I'd be all for moving the southern boundary to I-70 or at least US-22. Fear not as soon as I get laid off I will get you guys something out of the Akron/Canton/Cleveland corridor. Think east, south and north. On a positive note I actually started one of my bikes today-first time since December.

File photos illegal for claiming an existing tag but encouraged for putting up a new tag after you rode to claim the existing tag.

Gravel is forbidden in the Ohio tag.

On a website called "adventure rider". So sad.

If that's the stuff people want, I'm pretty sure www.sport-touring.net is the place for them

Or, they could do more kegal exercises so the sand stays out of their vag

Don't get me wrong, some of the tags have been pretty cool, or in cool locations. Even if all on slab.

STN is a bunch of twats.

I personally would like the rules to allow gravel, but the reality is that once you do that, you are opening up a lot of potentially dangerous stuff to people who may be ill equipped to handle it..... I've been on " gravel" that was essentially single track with log and creek crossings. " Pavement only" is an easy definition and keeps it open to all.

I try to make it obvious if my tags are on dirt. Well, as obvious as any of my clues anyway.

Adventures do not have to involve off road but can. And most NEO advriders seem to have a dirt capable bike, and/or dont mind exploring the less improved roads.
So the decision has been to allow dirt roads for tags in the NEO thread.
As mentioned the Farnsy tag (Ohio tag) does not allow dirt roads.
Both encourage the use of file photos to post the new tag once the rider has gotten the tag with a current photo. This allows the game to move faster and to move further more easily. As Slip mentioned, an ideal tag is getting a tag in on part of the region and posting the next one for the complete opposite side of the region.

I believe in ohio if your 50cc scooter can put out 5hp it is freeway legal

I want to plate an xr100 just because I can. I will have to get a few tags with that when it happens

My, we're all getting persnickity in here aren't we?
I think the rules on the first page spell it out pretty nicely.,
If you place a tag on a gravel or dirt road have the courtesy to warn your fellow taggers. Some might not be as comfortable on a loose surface but maybe they will learn to enjoy it. This site is about a lot more than taking too big of a bike down too small of a path but that having been said you don't need a GS or an XT250 to run a gravel road. BigArn, if you were not worried about the paint or the chrome that Bonnie would make a great gravel road burner. Street tires work fine on gravel. The whole thing about needing a GS 1200 to run down a gravel or dirt road is a myth. Oh, and while I am on my soapbox, SP4, two lane asphalt is not slab, Slab is highway.

Since I know him better I'm pretty sure he's just being a smart ass.

I could be wrong though, it's happened before.
