Awesome "Sheep skin" cover for your Butt Pleasure

I got one from Barbara the Owner Alaska Leather, and I'm totally in love...

now I need to find a "Bar of soap" so i can wash my tong, because i use to say that this covers were stupid and only help full for wussy wusses and Old farts,Oh well maybe I'm becoming one of the two or maybe the two

i still think A proper made seat is the ultimate confort upgrade but the material caracteristics of this cover have a great advantage in weight distribution(after all they being use on hospital for long term paccients for many years)

http://www.alaskaleather.com/

anyway great product, and belive me I'm being getting a few "Free" things for testing ,but this is one of the few i patronize,I really like and irina give her the seal of aproval also

sorry i only have One photo of it,,I chose the "Cow" Motive and I think is very fun, but they make them in many colors ,sizes and shapes

Before the cover Irina was seeing stars, yesterday she was watching Airplanes all happy and relax

Thanks Barbara i love your stuff

Only concern I have is Water retension, but i will know better later when i get to test it in the rain..looks like the materail will let the water flow to the bottom and My hope is not going to get all soak in water.

tell you more later

Sheepskin thing (rain)

Ricky,

An article I saw at their web site suggested when it rains you put the cover away to keep it dry. I had a small one on a Norton I used to ride back in the early 70's and I carried a plastic bag I'd drape over the sheepskin. Worked ok.

to bad i'm to much of a lassy pig.and I don't really have much carrying capacity,
maybe I need to start to watch the ski every morning,I think the trouble is more than justifiable compare to the benefits

Sheep skins

Stick a small garbage bag underneath it, that's where I kept the bag on the Norton - which had no carrying capacity. Come to think of it, the way stuff fell off the Norton I'm lucky it didn't have anyplace to carry stuff. I got the cover wet once up by Mendicino and discovered it loses all of it's good qualities when full of water.

Ricardo,

Have you seen or tried the wood beaded seat covers ? I have read they work well. I have a sheep skin cover, I've had for years
and it works well, but it will get wet and collects dirt.

Does it even rain in Cali???

PS-I hear tell, that you may have the cover positioned to far back.
It's supossed to cover the horn of the seat.

No, Ricky, no. I'm not sure how she built yours, but when she was first making them (I had one of her prototypes) it had only the front elastic strap to hook it over the front lip of the seat. It was designed to slide on and off in a few second so you could put it away when it started to rain.

If you do get it wet (really soaked) it will take nearly a full day to dry. This might not mean anything to you in California, but one of the reasons we liked the pads for riding in Alaska was to keep your butt warm. Although wool retains most of its insulating propeties, sitting on a wet pad is going to be colder than a dry bare seat.

Did you un-learn everything I taught you?-a wet sheep is warmer than no sheep at all. BARB

A wet sheep is better than no sheep at all, and a sheepskin seat cover from Alaska Leather is the bomb. I wouldn't ride without one, even if you paid me...

Awsome product, BARB

Hey, when I made the run to Kansas City in '99, I took it off from Calgary to almost Rapid City because of the RAIN. I was hoping it would be local and I could put it back on quickly.
