Jammin thru Mehico (full Ride Report)

Full Ride Report begins on Page 4.

Below and the first 3 pages are my trip reporting from the road during my trip.

Hola,
I'm taking off this Saturday (9/22) on my first ever adventure touring trip to Mehico! :grinner Why? Because there's some beautiful country south of the border and I hear there's good riding through canyons, mountains and coastlines. Plus, I've been told the food is amazing.

I've setup a mobile blog that I'll be updating with pictures taken with my phone (a Motorola Z6) and posting through picture messaging, wherever I get a cell signal. You can also read up more on why I'm doing the trip, my route plan, info about the bike and my packing list.

http://JamminMex.blogspot.com/

I wont be taking a laptop with me (soft luggage), but I'll try and post some updates to this thread along the way.

Many thanx to the members here on ADV who have been very helpful in advising me during the planning stages. I feel pretty confident about the trip and now am just anxious to get going.

If you make it down to the southeast let me know, I'll buy you a beer and set you up in a sofa!

Keep the rubber down!

Thumb Dudes coming to Mexico!

Hey maybe we will see some of ya down here, that would be great. My wife and I are hold up right now in Guerreo Negro, Baja waiting out hurricane Ivo. Its expected to hit just south of us in a couple days just where we are planning on going next. We are in a super nice small motel with wireless internet and HBO plus ($36/night) so here we stay until Ivo passes (dirty job) After, we plan on a week or more in Scorpion bay so if any of you are in the area look for us, bright red Sportster with huge aluminum bags, hard to miss.

Jammin, enjoy the ridding and the tacos down here, its all good! Mexicoooo. :)

Thumb

A little update: Im in Creel and heading to Batopilas soon. Ride to the border was good, expect knobbies falling off from the K270 rear. I guess going 80 mph is not good for it. Slowed down to a max speed of 65 and theyre doing good now, but wearing fast.

Im planning to change the tire in Guadalajara this weekend. Can someone please recommend a shop where they sell tires and mount them. Im probably looking for a 90 Street/10 dirt tire now, since no more dirt after today and tomorrow.

Ride to Creel was very nice, awesome scenery and good twisties. People are definitely very friendly here. Striking up conversations, asking where Im going, why on the bike, etc... Me poquito Espaniol is helping. The food has also been good. :grinner

Will post some pictures the next time...

Sorry I wasn't more help with the tire issue. I've never used knobbies on the highway like that so I just didn't have any input.

Did you get lost in Chihuahua like I promised?

Keep us posted. Where will (or did) you stay in Creel?

If you see a silver R1150GS and a silver blue F650GS , both with jesses it is my wife and I doing a similar route but in reverse. We also have motoport gear so we will look somewhat similar(to each other and to your gear) Hope to see you along the way, maybe at teotihuacan.
Have a great trip.
