Talking Rally Essentials

Since I'm just starting to get my rally kit together I have already purchased tent, sleeping bag, ground matress and a small cooker,so I was wondering if there are any essential rally items or ideas that you can help me with.

Cheers.........Schlim..

Some sort of small chair, sitting on the ground gets a bit ordinary

Torch, headlight or similar

Your own toilet paper

Sense of adventure.
Sense of humour (very, very important!)

The rest is personal preference. Some people like to take everything and show off all the goodies. Other people prefer minimalist travel. We can't tell you which you prefer.

Check out other people's kit when you get to a rally. That's half the fun.

Make sure your chair has a back on it. IMO after a long day in the saddle, it's nice to lean back and stretch out. Rather than being perched like a budgie on one of those little three legged stools.

Hat, for keeping the rain off.

Tarpaulin, for keeping the rain off.

Whiskey, because if you're going to put anything in your single-malt, it might as well be pure high country rain :-).

-----sharks (Dargo was a bit of a disappointment this year)

Bombay saphire gin, a tahitian lime, ice and a glass tumbler.

Sleeping mask and ear plugs.

Inflatable pillow and a freshly pressed pillow case for sleepy bo bo's.

As AL58 suggests bring your own TP.

Ears plugs are a must, also for winter rally goers in old Blighty you need gumboots.
