Congratulations on an excellent trip and ride report!

I believe this thread alone will spark off many adventures by many adventurers.

All the best and hope to see you off the road sometime.

Hey, Im new, heard about this trip from another site.

Ive got to thank you MJ and co, for the great pictures and story.

You even kept my missus quiet for and hour or so reading, now she even understands motorbike adventure riding. She also now realises I go out to ride my bike, and not the town bike, if you know wot I mean.

I am a happier man all round.

Thumb Thanx!

MJ and the Boys -

Firsts time post here. Got the link to your adventure from another forum. You guys truely rock! I've been riding street bikes for over 20 years, and your adventure has me wanting to go out and trade my Buell in for a BMW F650GS.

One question for you. Do you plan on, or did you write up an "after action report" on this trip? I would really like to hear what you guys think you did right and did wrong. Your insight would really help out a neophyte such as myself.

Now I gotta go and start planning an adventure for myself.

Take care,

Unbelievable journey and great story telling. It was so good it even pulled this lurker out of the woods for a post. I love this thread.

These are the people we were supposed to kill.

I...didn't realise that there were white Portuguese/colonials in the MPLA etc.

Good that you learned all this.
It seems like some good documentaries on our tv would help a lot with teaching more of us about it. It seems like a..topic that is pretty much dead now. The 20-somethings now, white or black, know nothing about it.

It always is. Including Iraq, now. And I never see anything on the first world war, like on History channel, without being appalled at what a disgusting waste it was.
But people never learn it. It's gone on since time immemorial.

yeah, there's hope that I get to escape. And now there's the hope that even if I never manage to get out, maybe I can go live in Angola instead. Better than here, in many ways. Better to be poor and not worry about being robbed so much, or being attacked so much.

yeah right. When you're in Wichita.
and yeah right, "nkosi sikelele iAfrika" [God save Africa]. What an ironically appropriate anthem - it's almost funny.
