Yep, that is probably what I saw - it was some time ago. If I were to do something like that I would do a strip of single high intensity red LEDs around the back, maybe with another shorter strip of amber on each side for turn signals.
That would require some wiring, but I would have some comms wiring anyway, so running some extra wiring for power and control through the same cable would be easy. Right now what I want is one of those rumble strips to cut down on helmet buffeting. In the future I think we may see some semiconductor lighting built right into clothing. We already see the LEDs in sneakers, and there are a lot of people working on wearable computers. FWIW, LCB |
