Yes. When you want to send the route, you'll have to connect the 2610 to the computer - you can only save maps direct to the memory card, everything else is held in the unit's internal memory.

You may also take out the memory card and plug it into a card reader on your computer, tell mapsource to send or upload from computer to the device and it should see the memory card. It will ask if you want to send waypoints, routes, maps, etc. Just select the items you wish to be stored on the card and hit upload. When its finished plug the CF card back into the unit and power up, the routes will be in your saved routes folder.

I was sure you couldn't do this. I must've been thinking of the SPIII - I've just tried it and you're absolutely right - live & learn...

After seeing them at Laurel Fork I bought one as well. I assume you got the idea of one after seeing a couple of the refurb units on a few bikes. The thing is much better at mapping/routing on roads than my 60cx but admit the 60cx blows it away with satellite reception. Don't think I'll be taking the 2610 off road but for the car its simply awesome especially considering it was $208 shipped.

I'm sure the way I do it is the hard way but, I use the map source program and find the coordinates then send them to the unit as a way point.

About the easiest way I can remember to enter coordinates is to mark a waypoint and then edit the lat long in the mark waypoint page.

add a $20 external Gilsson antenna to the 2610 and the reception is waay better.

mines off on the right, level with the mount. Did you mount yours on a 3x3 piece of metal?

How far away is the point? If you search for nearest points, the GPS only goes out to 50 or 100 miles (something like that). You might have to search by name.

Do the routes/waypoints stay on the card memory? Does this expand the number of routes or waypoints the unit can hold?
