I agree.

Just fitted Moto-Master kit to 950ADV. I bought 17" x 3.5" wheel off ebay (I think it is KTM power part for EXC's with 30mm spindle). Bolted M-M flame Disc straight on without spacers. Bolted M-M calliper with its bracket straight on without spacers or any grinding. Speed sensor in same position.
Only modification I did was to machine 5mm off length of standard LH spindle spacer. This brings wheel into centre of forks and disc into centre of calliper. There may be a standard 14/15mm wide spindle spacer off EXC (I'll take a rule next time I'm at Triple D). Fitted master cylinder off Duke ll. .
Braking is so much more powerful than standard twin disc that I'm looking into more progressive fork springs and viscous fork oil.
More "feel" in lever action than standard.

I will keep original wheels with off-road tyres for off-road and just change front calliper to standard with one disc.

Rear wheel is standard hub with 660 smc 17" x 5" Rim (Polished) to match front. It's got a 180/55-17 tyre, 42 tooth supersprox, 17 tooth front sprocket.

Dave

Duke ll again from ebay. I was going to use Brembo 4-pot calliper from Duke ll, but the distance from centre of calliper to spoke side of calliper is approx 50mm, whereas the M-M calliper is approx 41mm. It would have mean't 8mm spacers between disc and hub (on SM wheel), throwing disc too far across and fouling seal on fork leg when bottoming suspension I'll take camera out today.

I bit the bullet and removed my caliper support arms on the no disk side. There is no going back now. The front wheel I ordered from Woody had a single disk mount.......... this setup is so beautiful.......... I am more in love with my bike than I have ever been

Excellent thread! I am having a blast reading through it and learning. I am getting ready to start gathering the parts for my own conversion.

Mmmmmm ........ the money you save buying the SE pump could pay for half of the radial...........

I think I might cut up my original, useless, ADV pump to make a mirror mount
