He's alright is Ewen......but Charlie.......

Name drop as well.

I was lucky enough to meet Ewen at the Ace Cafe a couple of years ago. We chatted for a while and checked out the bikes together.

I reckon he's a decent bloke, considering he's a "Star" he had plenty of time for me and a few others who recognised him.

I met Charlie at the bike show in Sydney a couple of years ago......did not seem interested in chatting and looked as if he would rather be somewhere else.

I'll still be watching........

Matt

Just watched the boys, Andrew never looked relaxed. There was mention of Australia and "Long way across" in discussions about future trips.

Not Denton's best work... seemed kinda gimmicky, nothing of any real substance.

Still, makes me more so wanting to watch the series.

They seemed hesitant on the long way under idea.

Thought it might have been a bit more interesting, didn't think it was Dentons best work, jamming 6 months + worth of RTW riding experiences into 1/2 hour was always going to be a difficult task.
10 points to both the guys for their work with UNICEF and helping out the underpriveleged kids.
Don't think i could handle doing a ride with Charlie though, he whinges more than a Dingo with a leg caught in a dog trap.

Did anyone else notice that neither of them ever once mentioned BMW? Not one single free plug, in fact the only thing they mentioned was that the bikes were really heavy.

Makes me wonder if they have something else lined up for next time.

Oh, the irony of Ewan not talking about his family & keeping them out of the spotlight...with Charlie sitting there who never would have been in the spotlight if not for his father...

Well i know i wouldnt be that pleased riding 300kg of bike offroad.
230kg is bad enough. But at least it has suspension...

The interview was pretty good. I found it interesting they preferred tar riding to offroad.

Well the ABC's charter on promoting products kinda prevents this...

i also thought the interveiw was a bit wooden, not denton at his usual best. i gathert there must have been some editorial shackles at play. the minute denton asked ewan about his child adoption, down came the iron curtain. the only truth i heard was that their trips pay their rent bills.
at another level, ewan sounds abnoxious and self indulgent, charlie far more relaxed and good spirited. i suspect charlie is the real biker between them. either way, we learned bugger all about them (what's in their heads... i suspect not much in ewen, it's might be all down under the kilt) or the behind the scenes of their trips (but then, why would they want to tell the world about their overgrown entourage of 'fixers'. kinda makes the 'adventure' another stage set).
for mine, zig and zag can stick their trips and stay out of oz. i prefer ted simon, the striking viking, nevgriff and a whole bunch of other down to earth people like them (many of whom hang about here).
rant over.
