If all you have to do is make the bike a tribute bike to make it worth crazy money...

I'm in the wrong line of work!

For Graham it seems a Honda would be more in line since he did so well with Hondas - even after the AMA tried to make them overweight/non-competitive.

This showed up and raced at Western Reserve Motorcycle Club short track in early September this year.

The rider did well in his races against some big inch Honda singles. He seemed bit heavy on the compression release, but hey - he's out there racing, I'm not.

I just love that carb hanging out in the breeze. Kind of like the old school look of the fender on the back instead of the ubiquitous tail section.

It was every bit as clean as it looked. A Redline frame (if I remember right) specifically for the Kawasaki Big Horn engine.

I have a friend who's giving me a Kaw 125 wi/rotary valve... I'm thinking it would look good done up a bit like this, on the street to boot.

thanks. for the record that is Pat Moroney, late 70's Moto Fox team MX rider and dirt track Fast Hog team owner. Thats a Harley KR that once belonged to Roger Reiman.

I held the funnel yesterday morning when they topped it off with race gas. Looks to be leaking...

thanks mate. good to see you and glad I made it, I was going to hit a MX but very glad I reconsidered. plenty of MX available, not too many vintage dirt track's come along and this one practicaly in my back yard.

To me this thread is just another in a long line of moto-porn.

But seriously; I see more and more builders running dirt track tires on the street and I was curious how long they last on the street.
I know you can't just buy them anywhere and I'm pretty sure they aren't DOT (not that that matters) but I've been wondering for a few years how well they hold up on the road.
Thanks in advance.

They have no DOT markings, but also have nothing saying Not For highway Use - so in my country they are legal to use on the road. I've only used a K180 on the front, very sticky, but didn't use for long enough to check the wear rate (sold the bike) I expect they wouldn't last long used hard.

We will have DOT tubeless/tube dirttrack tires available in both Front 27.0/70x19 and Rear 27.5/7.5x19 very soon . Both in harder compounds for the street .There are a few sets in the US and more are coming in soon.
I will let you all know more soon.
