Very cool. Always thought the NX would be a good starting point for a nice tracker/scrambler, and you've proven that lad. NICE WORK!

I have checked in on this thread a number of times but I guess I forgot to post this over here. We had a Vintage Flat track event here in Middle Tennessee back in October. Reading back through all 60+ pages of this during my slow holiday week at work reminded me to post up my mini report.

My post copied from another forum
Quote:
Got out to enjoy the wonderful weather today be got just around 100 miles on the bike. I left out this afternoon with the Vintage Flat Track Races, swap meet, and vintage bike show at the Wilson County Fair Grounds in Middle Tennessee as my destination.

This event was put on by a local promoter and is the first short track race he has done. It was $15 to get in as a spectator and while I would have been happier at $10 it was ok. There was a decent crowd gathered in the stands but not that many booths in the swap meet and not all that many bikes in the bike show either. There were a couple really nice bikes present though. The track seemed short, really short. I talked with a couple of the racers who said they just had far to much motor for the track. When the bike was not bucking up on them it was spinning the tire down the straights. It was dusty and dry as well. They had to spray things down a couple times.

Over all it was a wonderful day to be out riding and the races were a nice mid day stopping point to stretch the legs. There is still just a bit of fall color left to be seen on the back roads of middle Tennessee.

All the photos I took can be found here. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...0&l=ca267ec5a2

A few choice selections.

One colorful stop along the way home.

Regardless of what 'category' you put it in, that is the most gorgeous BMW I've ever seen. Serious business, that.

Blast from MY past

Oh the days of bell-bottoms, peace, love, and a TT track in every town.

I found these photos the other day, most of them were photographed by my father.

Oh those were the days my friends!

One of the recent additions to my stable, taken in my trailer, loaded up for the ride to it's new home (my place):

72/73 Pursang 350 cases with an Astro cylinder in a '78 Astro 250 frame. Can you say "Vintage Flattrackin' in 2011"???
