Angeles National Forest closed
ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST - Due to the high number of wildfires
throughout Southern California, the Angeles National Forest will be
closed starting today, officials said.
The closure will be in effect until the extreme conditions subside,
said Forest Service spokeswoman Kathy Peterson.
People or organizations holding special use permits for sanctioned
activities within the forest are exempt from the closure, she added.
County roads and state highways, including Angeles Crest Highway, will
remain open to through traffic, however drivers are urged to be
extremely careful and mindful of area fire activity.
For more information about the closure or updates fires currently
burning in the Angeles National Forest, call the Fire Information
Center at (626) 821-6700.
