I don't own one of these and I'm only going on what info I can find on the Bushnell website. As long as you only need USA maps and don't mind the size of the unit, it seems interesting. I don't see much info in the way of Route Planning software (Mapsource -like). They don't provide a lot of technical info as to to Route/Track Import/Export.

I like all the features, but I'm concerned that they don't have any real tech info posted on the Bushnell website. It does say it's waterproof and sorta looks like a hand held unit. I like the idea, but the controls look like they would be a bitch with motorcycle gloves on.

My big questions are:
  • Memory - "you can download georef'ed satellite images" - how much can you store on it?
  • Power and mounting options to put it on a bike, since it's hand held, they don't mention 12V options, charging or battery life on their website.

I has been almost a year since they were announced and I don't see anything to indicate they are available or will be except for this. I am curious also.

Ok it appears that these are available but there is still not real tech data on the website. I see nothing referring to import/export of track or turn-by-turn possibilities.
Anybody else have any info? The GPS/XM in one unit is appealing to me.

Ok I spent about 5 minutes with this at the Nashville, TN Bass Pro Shop. It appears to be a solid unit. I saw what appeared to the ability to select a route and there was an option in the menu for tracks. I don't know any more.
There was not a signal in the building and it was in demo mode. The picture they had in it was of the Washington Monument and it look very similar to what you see in google.

Does it do Tracking? and does it allow you to save tracks and also Import them?
If not? It would be Worthless for my use.

I seen this earlier and bought 1. It looks like it will do what I need it for. I'm sure it is no Garmin but it looks as if you can have unlimited map downloads for $29.00 a year. I'll find out I guess.

They do not show that on their web page, or at least do not advertise that $29.00 program, most all of the reviews I have seen complain about how exspensive the downloads are, The Lowrance Downloads program is also very expensive.
I know that Delorme offers a $29.95 a year unlimited downloads, but I have not seen anyone else that has that kind of a deal,
Could be a cool GPS , especially at that price. I wonder if it handles TRACKS??

It will hold 1000 Waypoints and 20 Routes.

I can't find the number of trails and points yet...

.... edit
Found the trails, it will do 20 trails too, but no mention of how many points. :sad

woot.com had these for sale for $99 + $5 shipping. I picked one up and will try it out. My main purpose for getting it was for the ability to get NEXRAD weather read outs. The Garmin 376c was out of my price range. I think the Onix 400 will supplement my 2820 just fine.

Only issue is that the 400 looks HUGE.
