The Versys handles very well and a better set of tires would add to that. Its very comfy standing and the power is so smooth. No problems with any of the crossings today.. had a blast!

Hope everyone was able to get out and ride or get some wrenching done..

Yes it was closed. But it was on a Sunday. Of course I made it through! That is Hy 58 between Grand Marais and Munising in The UP of Michigan. The UP has 100's if not 1000's of miles of sand roads just like that. It a great place to get lost in.

Hy 58 starts like this:

and soon turns to the good stuff!

Then it turns back to blacktop about 10 miles from Munising.

As Jack Frost refused to relinquish his grip, I got a later than usual start this day. Headed north on WV 20 just across the Nicholas County line and then picked up Snow Hill Road. Brought back a memory of my last trip on a KLR in late winter…let me just say that this road came by its name honestly.

Me and Lil’ Red then worked our way through the mountains to Old Nicholas Road, stopping occasionally to snap pictures of scenic vistas, beautiful ridge top farms, livestock and antique tractors. I was hard on the binders to get stopped for a snapshot of a just dropped, still wobbly Black Angus calf when I looked ahead 50 yards down the road to their barn and there…well there…stood a HUMONGOUS Rottweiler, no doubt named Billy T Badazz. He was already in full attack pose, so I opted for full throttle 3^rd gear acceleration straight at him instead. He never even flinched. I swerved hard left at the last second to zip past him and luckily his play fell short. I swear I felt Lil’ Red give a sigh of relief! It is for certain, that’s one secure baby moo cow.
I’ll shut up now (yes, you can sigh in relief too) and let my video do the talkin’.

Thank you. Glad you liked it Calvin. It was a good day. Riding, hiking around and playing in great weather.

And the Steeldrivers ROCK don't they. Phenomenal live. Write all their own tunes. Unfortunately the lead singer has moved on to other pursuits and I'm not sure the band will be the same without him. A one CD wonder?...sure hope not.
