Couldn't make the ride today, because of a turkey hunt this morning. After getting backing and finishing yard work the weather was to good not to go for a ride. Oh how the weather changes so quickly here. Rode from the Y-Stop to Boise in an absalute hellish rainstorm. Wished I had went earlier when the weather was good. Hope you guys had fun on Sams' ride.

I'm almost certain I passed you turning onto Kuna Mora ~ I flipped around and shouted at you to get you to stop, but you didn't notice.

It was a nice sunny day to get out. John and I never caught the 'main' group of riders, but we met and passed by 1/2 dozen or so riders. We got to the Y Stop for lunch about 10 minutes after the group left.

It was a great day for a ride... only a few drops of rain on the way home.

Ya, me too. John's only mirror got knocked off the bike as we left town, so we spent 45 minutes monkey-ing the stupid thing back into place with wire and JB Weld... didn't help our cause to catch the group, any.

Sam, thank you for putting together a great route, really enjoyed it.

The long way home crew split up when three of us decided to ride the Cotton Wood Guard Station road over to Hwy 21. Well it was a fun road until we came to the washout about 10 miles in that turned us back. About 500 yards of the road is GONE with a fast flowing creek in the bottom of the washout.

Thorn Creek will be a option once the snow is gone about August 1st, but today a 7,500 foot summit would not be passable.

Great day......enjoyed riding with everyone.

That was me I didn't recognize you without your side kick. Sounds like you guys had a good time. The scenery was spectacular with the hills being so green.

Your welcome. I am glad you had a good time, couldn't of asked for a better day to ride! too bad it's the only one we had for the next few days.

You are in a great part of the country for DS riding and if your the adventurous soul, think about camping off the bike on the roads less traveled. We have some 30K miles of unpaved bliss here just in Idaho, not to mention ES Oregon, N Nevada

See you out there

Wow, I forgot, as normally the creek at the washout is usually just a trickle. I remember driving all the way through back in the 80's on my hunting trips, I believe it washed out in the mid 90's. That is a fun road. You should come out a play more often. Nice to finally me you.

Thorn Creek - looks worse than it is

She blew out long ago to leave the adventurous a short route from HW21 to the middle fork. Been up and down it several times this year. It is much improved this year over past. Think I would even give it a try on the Tiger going downstream. Stay on the riverside right near the top and there is several creek crossings and one 30 ft straight down the creek section but man you'll have a grin on your face when you make it to the intersection with the middle fork of thorn creek.

Give it a try next time your in that neck of the woods.
