Stegerman, sorry to hear about your Grandma. My Grandma passed over Christmas a few years back and it's never easy.

I have an '02 1150 GS that I just purchased that has a set of 9" Happy Trails hard panniers. I would be willing to let you rent these if you can leave me something of equal value as collateral (my wife's condition). My wife is from Jordan, MT with family all over Eastern Montana--so we'd love to help a fellow Montanan out if possible. Please PM me if interested.

That means I am facing at least a (sad) 6 day trip to Billings and back for her funeral. I bought an 1150GS last fall and have been saving my pennies for some cases to put on, but don't have them yet. Here's the request: I have the stock case mounts, so if anyone has some cases they would be willing to rent me for the trip I would really appreciate it. It would certainly make packing on the bike easier. I am a mid-40s rider who has logged 40K miles since 2009 (mostly on my now sold F650) and am very trust-worthy. I'm not a hard case, I'm just not in a position right now to drop the money on some new cases. I'm guessing I'll need them either by the end of the week or early next. I know it's a long shot, but it never hurts to ask.

Thanks - if you can help pm me and that will send an email to my phone or send me an email on my profile.

Yup, I was lookin to get a new singletrack bike, looks like the feather weight 1200 gs must be the one

Dude, your nuckin futs. awesom

Jason Abbott;19228894]Me and my three brothers spent five days riding through North Idaho mountains. We had radios this time which was nice. That's the talking in the video. It's not edited fancy like Sam's but as a sweetener, there's a little tumble at the end.

This is just part of one day, getting from our first-day campsite along Marble Creek over into Montana. I have a bunch of pictures for a report too. The video was a new thing. If you haven't seen much of North Idaho, here you go

Hells yeah, just be sure you have three brothers behind you to help drag it back on the trail, that way your part is only about 250 pounds. Truly, I was pretty lucky the way that went at the end.

You and I are brothers from another mother. I'd love to ride that single track with you. But my tough decision two weeks ago was based on exactly what you did. If I had done something like that by myself, it would have been a long walk. Like a really long walk. Probably two days before I found help. If I had had somebody with me, onward!

I'll keep that in mind. Worried the exhaust would touch the bags and burn them.

Thanks

Congrats! My bike is still at the shop. :-( I'll get them done this year even if I have to walk to them!

Checking In

Hello Boise..

I just got home last night from a pretty Epic Ride...... well from my prospective anyways.

Seems thumbing over the local thread all have been busy riding and congrats to Silverspurs for finishing up the Challenge Points (finally got the carrot)

Me I been all over Idaho for the last 12 days in the saddle (or laying beside it ) 745 miles up (took the long way) and 1200 or so coming down along my old ICT track from back in 07.

Put this little trailer together, I need to start compiling my RR. It'll take some time though! Moya and I are very tired.

See you out there
