Wow, great video, looked like some pretty technical sections there about 9-10 minutes in.

I continued over to North Star Lake where I had a picnic along the shore. Then some climbing again toward Smith Creek Lake, as it sounds like you well know. That was was the most challenging I did in terms of steep rocky trail. Doable but would have been more fun to watch someone else struggle too.

I had thoughts of going to Rattlesnake Ridge from Smith but it's just as well I missed the turn. Or there isn't one. I went over to Trinity Road. Is that Bear Gulch? That stretch between Smith and Trinity Road was tough. Lots of trees down. I could see it would be fun if you could actually run it. I only kept going because I saw fresh trials tracks. It was a hard workout.

Lots of pictures and video all the way except the last stretch with all the tree hopping. Battery died.

Thanks again for your advice.
That little rock section just past Northstar is good fun!

At the saddle where you start the side hill run up the Northstar Lake drainage .... Bear Gulch takes off to the left....after you reach the Upper Lava trailhead, about a mile or two down the road is The Bear Hole TH which wraps around to Greens Crk and back to the North of Trinity Mtn.

I assume you turned North at the upper trailhead to reconnect to your route .....did you make Haga?

Hey Ryan;
that's the Dug Bar Road, I'd guess it's about 9 miles back toward Imnaha from Dug Bar... a really memorable ride, loved the country...

Ah,

One of the places out there that I haven't gotten around to. I've heard its nice, if you can catch it while its still cool out.

Did you get up to Hat Point? We camped up there a couple of weeks ago, and it was serene.

We ran most of the Hells Canyon route in the Tracker the 1st week in June, before I had to start summer school. Make for a great week.

Nice video. It's nice to see what the trails really look like when riding. Still photo's are helpful, but a video...better. From the video you've presented, I might be able to ride this. I'll take my son along though in case I get in a jam. And I shouldn't forget to stop at one of the lakes for a lunch like you! Thanks for sharing.

Fixed!... thanks Mike!
I went up to Hat Point last year, but not this time. a group tried to go there on Friday? but it was raining so hard they didn't get all the way to the lookout... pretty wet week over there for the Rally, I think Saturday was the only day it didn't rain...

Sam stayed in camp, probably taking medicine for his leg. Dan, Ron and myself tried to get up to hat point, and yes, we ended up wet.

My ride to Enterprise

Was relatively dry and uneventful. I decline to take the ride to Dug Bar because I wore out my front tire on the way up. I failed to take a picture of it after arriving at Enterprise. I have NEVER ran a tire that far before. For those that didn't see it it was missing most knobs in the center and wore more than I like. I will post a picture later of the replacement that was found at Outlaw Motorsports in Enterprise. A takeoff at a most reasonable price = Free

I've read very good things about Outlaw, from other ADV'ers on this PNW area.

I think those were the guys that were able to get me a new chain after I threw mine up on the Zumwalt, and stayed open late to make sure it fit and that I got running.
