Rick, still working on that report :)
Ed, way to get out there while you still can! If Steve does show up on the 950, I'd love to see those pics:)
Ryan, where have you been hiding? Saddle up! :)
Jonny, go to Hemingway Butte. Take Hwy 45 south of Nampa, just after you cross the Snake river, turn south on Hwy 78 for a mile or two, right on upper Reynolds creek rd :)
Also, Weekday Afterwork Ride next Tuesday :)
I am up for next Tuesday. Will watch for details.

Nice write up Jason. I've been out there dozens of times, been in the upper coral/ horse re-director but never been to the cool cave. I guess I have some more exploring to do.

Thanks

I was told a story years ago that those corrals were built by Bigfoot to hold stolen horses.

Awesome Adventure.

That is a really great ride report. The narrative was enough for me to want to go there tomorrow; I don't know the country that well but have the bike and skill to maybe tag along sometime when a bit of company would not impede you guys.

Thanks

I have a copy of the Galleon Press, "HISTORY OF THE IDAHO TERRITORY 1876", by Elliot which contains basically the same story. I had never heard of the reference to the horse corals though.

Thanks

Tomorrow's forecast - 90% chance of rain. A little rain is fine, but if its going to be mucky and nasty I'm not going riding afterwork :(

Stars and sun finally aligned for me to go on one of your afternoon rides, but mom needs to water the grass I guess. Maybe I'll be able to catch another one in the future then.

Interesting. I searched and searched and couldn't find much about the corrals. Supposedly there's an oral history about them kept at the Murphy Museum. That Bigfoot fellow is also interesting. I read about him after riding by Bigfoot Bar. Even after he died, apparently, others were laying down fake footprints to intimidate settlers lot of history around here.

Looks like crappy rain as far as the doppler can see, so I dropped off my riding boots today to have them restitched, should have them back by Saturday. We'll try an afterwork ride again next week.
