Thumb I love my 950S

I took a 400 mile ride today, good mix of terrain, up thru Mass. Green River Rd. up past Timber Crib dam. 60-70 mph down some of those gravel roads. The beast just turned 22,000 miles and other than the water pump I've had no problems. My 06 BMW GSA has been thru 3 front wheels, the rear shock blew out at 4,000 miles. It's been sitting at the Dealer for the past 3 weeks with a blown final drive, no one can tell me when I'll get it back, the drive is on national back order! $20,000 bike and I hate it! The KTM out handles it both on and off road, and is a blast to ride. I'm fucking done with BMW!!!!

Nah, he's waiting for when his Beemer gets out of the shop and the starter (parts stuck in some Austrian warehouse somewhere) goes on his 950, so those posts will be true again.

My oil filter had collapsed cause I had to limp it back from Oregon & that was back ordered as well. I walked into a U.S dealer & they had them in stock. My bike has been in 3x for coolant issues & yet, I still love my bike!!

30kms on the odo

I think I had about 12k on mine when the water pump failed. Frank at Cliff's Cycles said it was probably because of the cooling system flush he just did. He thinks some crap was forced by the seal and started the problem. It's been fine since.

When a man loves a 950s , a woman weeps alone.

Doesn't sound unreasonable to me, I mean, the final drive is maintenance free so why would anyone expect replacements to be present in the spares warehouse

Good one! They were going to rebuild it, but i'm getting one of the new ones with a drain plug. At least I won't have to remove the freekin drive to change the oil anymore. I wonder if I can get BMW to make the payments while it's sitting? hehehe.

Your Not the Only One

I just came back a day early from Creel in case one of the riders needs help getting his 2006 GS Adventure from Santa Theresa POE up to Las Cruces tomorrow.

He awoke yesterday morning to a leaking final drive with about 16000 miles on the bike. It is only costing $600 to get it from Creel to Santa Theresa. My 950 turned over 25000 maintenance free miles on this trip. Give me chain, carbs and non ABS: simpler is better.

22,000 miles on the 950 replaced chain and sprockets once. BMW will never admit to having a problem.

Either his spanish sucks or BMW riders really like to pay more for everything. We got jaybob's bike brought up from the middle of nowhere to Santa T for free. Our gracious hosts even fed us.

Thumbs down I hate my 950 s. I'll stick with the Jap bikes.

06' 950 s 13,000 miles. Three water pumps, vales, and starter. Bought the bike in March and it has been in the shop 13 weeks. Waiting for parts every time. Bullshit.
