I took it off a few weeks ago anticipating mud on a ride, and haven't gotten around to re-installing it. I'll probably put it back on this week. Haven't had it in the rain so don't know about any protection issues. I'm sure you would get a little more water. The previous owner put line X (bed liner material) on the the edges of the beak, no real function just looks cool..

An updated photo or 2 of my 99-GS. After I replaced the stock tank, with the ADV tank, I had Wheelie Paul (my fabricator friend ) affix an 1150 beak, which I had to get the ADV tank rubber between the beak and tank, it matched up perfect. He fab'd me up a brace for under the oil cooler, and 1 each for the turn signals. Came out very well. I also added the ADV Beak Tip for looks......

I just got my new to me 1995 to replace my 2002 GSA. I'm very happy with it, it runs very smooth. I haven't noticed any transmission issues at all, seems to shift just fine. I added a center stand skid plate and I am going to put an RID in soon. I have the RID already, and I have a few tools in the garage that my dad gave me in a red box. When I figure out how to open it, I may be back for some help with the install.

Cake. It's a bolt-on with the right handful of parts.

Well, with your technical knowledge and intensive care Basri, I have no doubt that your son will ride it after 15 years.
