New Look - New Blue Beak

A few shots of the new look for my GS w/ an R1150GS Beak Transplant. Not for the purists maybe, but I like it a lot.

Before and after comparo:

At the boyhood home:

On the Loomis-Oroville Road, between Chopaka Road and Loomis, with about 50 California Bighorn Sheep and a dozen Whitetail Deer in the field (not all in the photo though).

my 1995

This is my 1995. Kind of an interesting story. I bought her in 07/2007 to take to Alaska in 08. Of course it didn't work out with all the headaches
at work. Then again in 09 it was obvious I would not be able to leave for a month. So in December of 2008 I decided to sell her since Alaska was a couple years out. A young man from Little Rock bought it and I delivered it the week after Christmas. I regretted it every day. I kept looking at other bikes, really wanted a 1150 but didn't buy since I still can't make a trip to alaska work. On a whim I emailed the guy this past Thanksgiving to see how he was getting along with her. He said it was really too tall form him and he had only put 800 miles on the bike in a year. I asked if he'd sell it back and he agreed. I picked it up about 5 days after the anniversary of delivering it. Two pictures. One on the traile coming home.......
and one after I took off the GIVI trunk, switched the screen to a parabellum and added GSA type decals on the trunk. She has Ohlins, Piaa lights touratech gel seat and only 36K miles. Runs perfect.

What top box do you have on the bike? I like the looks of it.

Well the top box is also a jesse, and I wanted it as it matched my side bags. Bought it from an inmate here that is a great guy. I doesnt
hold as much as the givi on it in the first pic, but I really like the look so much better. Thanks for the compliment.
Liz, thanks for the comment on the screen. Your advice too keep
the screen was excellent. I trimmed it down with a dremel per twintwin's advice. Easy as pie. Absolutely the most comfortable change I made.
Perhaps double the wind protection of the smaller screen on her before.
I just love it. She is a proper touring bike now. tons of storage, great
wind protection comfort and comfortable. A cruise control/throttle lock and
I am pretty much done. Did you notice the custom home made stainless steel valve cover protectors with highway pegs on them? gives me a alternative foot rest just too mix things up a bit. Thanks both of you for noticing her..................

superdutyGS, Hi!

You know, I looked to see if you had crashbars on the bike and thought, "Nope, no crashbars, but that head area looks sort of busy." My mind said no crashbars, that's all I needed to know. Those look GREAT! Do they bolt at all four corners or three?

While I'm at it:

Inspector, Hi!

I like the chrome passenger grab handles mounted to the top of the Jesse's, very nice! Dare I ask the source of them?

One more:

Paperboy, Hi!

Just out of curiosity, do you still happen to have the original 1100 beak?

I lied, one more:

awryders, HI!!!!!

Yay! You still have the GS! For some reason I thought it might be leaving the stable. The bike looks GREAT!

Okay, I'm done.

Enjoy,

Liz

liz's Q

the valve cover protection only bolts with 3 bolts. the lower front is the OEM bolt. All 4 torqued to the original specs. hope you are getting some sunshine in VT. I wasn't too far from your part of the country when I rode
out to the Baseball Hall in October.

Great story!

My 95' has nearly 65,000 miles now.

Here she is on the ferry crossing into Bangkok. Motorcycles aren't allowed on the elevated freeways of Bangkok.

And returning
