I know I've already posted a couple of pictures in this thread, but thought this one my wife took yesterday was very poignant:

Windscreen

Wiz, what kind of windscreen is that on your 1100? Been trying to find something with a little more protection for winter than the stocker. Cost?

Paging Wiz !! -- I also want to know the answer to Larry's question.
(maybe we'll have to use PM ??)

And Jim . . . Thanks for the suggestion. I will look for a Bagster. Makes sense. I just want to ride the thing -- not make another project out of it. And . . . it gives me more places to stash things.

The GS toaster -- I am almost tempted.

Evil,

Your bike looks just like the one I bought in September. 95 with 18k miles. I have put on 4k since then and enjoy the hell out of it. Only difference is I have Tourances' instead of the knobs, but will try them out some day on mine.

The knobs left shortly after I left the driveway. The rear was toast. Didn't like my other TKC's in the rain when they were in good shape. No way I was risking hitting rain on the way home with those banana peels. Anakees went on in Barrington, Il. Guy was good enough to fit me in on short notice.

May try TKC's later on depending on the use I give this beast. Stock bags didn't last long. Left one jumped off (front ear/hook snapped) Sunday on a not so maintained dirt road. Wasn't too impressed with that. Thanks to my bungee net it made a fine top case though.

So JKAM, what do you think? Will the Wee handle all the weight and abuse you heaped on the 1100GS for 100k miles?

It will handle the 100k part just fine, I'm at 86,000 now on the wee.

It will handle the abuse as well. I broke the subframe on the GS and the wee hasn't had any issue there. My GS had 3 transmissions in 4 years along with a clutch. The wee is still using the original clutch and the transmission is smooth as silk, not the clunkbox the GS was.

I'm probably carrying about 75-100 lbs. less on the strom, not as much cargo capacity as the GS but it made me trim down all the crap I carry.

Why you sold it then, the engine lasts about 500k?

Front discs are TRW.
Rear disc Galfer.
Fablon squares on tank. No bash plate at the moment because it fell off.
