homemade crash bars

i made some crashbars out of some old suzuki rear racks. i cut two of them to make one crashbar for my xr650l. in the past i have dented my gastank and had to fix so now i should be ok.

Looks nice, although I question the effectiveness. Seems to me that the protection bars just bend inwards in case of parking the bike horizontal.

What are you using for the front lights/mask?

yea i made the gas tank to hold 7.2 gallons out of a stock tank and some sheet metal.

the bars are really strong, i tried to bend them but i cant get them to touch the tank. i usually do slow speed crashes and the bike got some damage from falling on some boulders last time and the bars would have saved my tank from scratches plus the bike falls over in the shop once in awhile! the front light is a trailtech x2 shaved down a little. i sand blasted the bars yesterday and shot some silver to tame them down some. i dont like chrome!

yea i dont know what happen to the pics, i think when i got a new computer the old pics were probably destroyed. i wish i had them!
