I'm thinking the logo's mirrored FF stands for Ferro Flyer or something similar... didn't we have a propeller driven Italian train here a while ago?

Not Italian but is European, 1920's.

You might be onto something with the FF for the manufacturer, but not the name.

Not the Fleet Fifty, although that was a cool floatplane. Yes, the unsolved one was from the late 1920's. European aircraft. Here is the next clue:

It had 2-1 seating:

I think I have gotten close on the nose (dual lights at least ).. the weird thing in your photo is the propeller centered behind the cockpit.. so if that engine is part of the aircraft and not something else - it is likely a push-pull configuration if it is twin engined.

Yes, it is a tandem push-pull twin but not from Italy .
