Can you ID this Fighter Jet - Page 6

Cool! Pilatus jet trainer. I think it has a full authority digital engine control throttle so that the engine characteristics closely mimic a jet plane for training.

I like the plane because it always reminded me of a P-51...gorgeous plane.

Stumped. Finally. It kinda looked like they were going to design a helicopter but then changed their minds halfway through.

It was designed as both, as the B-58 lacked the internal space for fuel tanks to support it's designed range. The combined tank/weapon would be dropped, then the plane would escape at a significantly higher speed.

The nose gear did a very funky slide and bend to clear the front of the pod.

BTW, I think we're getting a little off topic. Jet Fighters, not bonbers, trainers, prop trainers, water bombers, etc..........

Yakovlev Design Bureau Yak-130. And yes, it helped that I read Russian. Prekrasniy samolyot!

Check out the detonation cord on the canopy. Cool stuff.
